About The Position
TAFE NSW is seeking world-class educators to inspire and support learners in gaining foundation skills to prepare them for career pathways. The role involves constructing, guiding, and enhancing the educative process, and facilitating learning by delivering educational programs to enable students to achieve their desired outcomes. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy to a diverse range of adult learners. Travel to Newcastle, Glendale, or the local community may be required.
Requirements
- Hold one of the below qualifications: A recognised Bachelor degree (AQF 7) in education, with an LLND focus OR A recognised postgraduate qualification (AQF 8 or higher) in LLND OR A Qualification at AQF5 (or above) and relevant experience in an LLND area
- Minimum of three years post-qualification experience in teaching.
- Hold evidence of the required teaching qualification to deliver Vocational Education and Training (VET).
- Be prepared to continue to develop your Vocational Education and Training (VET) knowledge and skills as well as your industry currency and trainer/assessor competence.
- Be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand passport.
- A Working with Children Check is a prerequisite for anyone in child-related work.
Nice To Haves
- Successful applicants coming in under #3 (Qualification at AQF5 or above and relevant experience in an LLND area) must complete Adult Literacy and Numeracy Teaching (ALaNT) + TAELLN skillset (TAESS00026 or predecessor) within 18 months of engagement. (ALaNT expected to be available from T2, 2024.)
Responsibilities
- Teach students face-to-face in classrooms and online
- Issue, mark and provide comprehensive feedback on assessments
- Undertake student administration, including marking registers and recording results
- Undertake section administration as directed by your Head Teacher
- Maintain relevant relationships with community and other stakeholders and employers
- Share your skills and passion for supporting learners to progress towards their career goals
