About The Position
The Paterson Public Schools is seeking a qualified Math Teacher to join their team. This position requires knowledge of the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS) and New Jersey Student Learning Assessment (NJSLA). The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of child development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, assessment, and learning research. Experience with high school students is necessary, along with excellent integrity, moral character, and initiative. The role also requires critical thinking, problem-solving skills, respect for others, and computer literacy, including the ability to use interactive computer instructional software. Effective oral and written communication skills are essential for interacting with staff, students, parents, and the community. This position is pending budget availability and is open for ten (10) consecutive days following the date posted or until filled. Requirements
- Must hold New Jersey Math certificate
- Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA
- Experience working with high school students
- Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others
- Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community
