The Teacher, Math 6-12 position is responsible for providing an educational atmosphere where students can develop intellectually, emotionally, physically, and psychologically in accordance with the District's philosophy, goals, and objectives. This role involves establishing goals, planning and preparing lessons, identifying and modifying instructional materials, maintaining a safe learning environment, managing time and resources effectively, instructing volunteers and aides, maintaining records, using behavior management techniques, assisting in the enforcement of school rules, participating in IEPs/EPs/504 Plans, developing assessment strategies, interpreting data, establishing a proper testing environment, demonstrating subject matter knowledge, applying learning principles, using multimedia approaches, enhancing critical thinking skills, providing instructional modifications for students with special needs, ensuring challenging and relevant student work, recognizing and acting on indicators of student distress or abuse, instructing on safety procedures, using appropriate materials and technology, fostering an engaged learning environment, communicating effectively with professionals, students, parents, and the community, collaborating with others, engaging in professional growth, conducting self-assessments for professional development, modeling professional and ethical conduct, performing all professional responsibilities, preparing reports, and supporting school improvement initiatives.
