About The Position

The Teacher Leader is a classroom teacher position who also leads other teachers to meet a standard of excellence by co-teaching alongside colleagues and assisting in the establishment of goals while determining how instructional time is spent. He/she helps organize teaching roles for daily co-teach lessons to fit each teacher’s strengths, content knowledge, and professional development goals. The Teacher Leader co-plans, co-teaches, models, coaches, and gives feedback, positively influencing the learning environment for both colleagues as well as students. The Teacher Leader also organizes the analyzation of student learning data and changing instruction to ensure high-growth learning for every child. This position collaborates with the administrative instructional team, using the ideas and innovations that improves student learning. Just as the teacher of record, this position fully accountable for learning and development of all students taught by him/her.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of classroom experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in instructional leadership role
  • Knowledge of curriculum and instruction
  • Ability to mentor, co-teach, and co-plan with others
  • Ability to evaluate teaching effectiveness
  • Use of strong, research-based best practices
  • Ability to interpret policy, procedures, and data
  • Strong communication, public relations, and interpersonal skills
  • Calm and patient demeanor with students and colleagues
  • Must pass a national criminal background check
  • Must pass a background check of the Arkansas Child Maltreatment Central Registry

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Educational Leadership or Curriculum and Instruction
  • Evidence of 2-3 years of student growth trend data

Benefits

  • Supplemental pay of up to $3,500 per year in addition to salary
