About The Position

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides educational services to K–12 students who need additional support to succeed in traditional school settings. SESI partners with school districts to operate in-district classrooms and standalone schools serving students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

The Teacher in Training provides academic, social, and emotional support to students who need additional assistance. The role uses SESI’s instructional models, strategies, and curriculum; assesses student learning; uses data to develop and implement instructional plans; and collaborates with school teams and families to support student outcomes. The position includes paid training and credentialing support, and works in smaller classes across diverse educational settings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
• Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a dynamic educational environment.

Nice To Haves

• Valid teaching certification.

Responsibilities

• Work with students from diverse developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Teach knowledge and skills, nurture confidence and character, and provide individualized attention to meet students’ needs.
• Use assessment data to modify short- and long-term plans to promote academic performance.
• Develop and maintain skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Collaborate with team members to foster critical thinking and academic rigor.
• Apply the school’s behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Use de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and team-member safety.
• Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward goals, and develop and maintain required forms and files.
• Participate in daily school functions, including morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties, as well as conferences, meetings, and training.
