About The Position

Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides education services for K–12 students who need additional support to succeed in traditional school settings. SESI partners with school districts to operate in-district classrooms and standalone schools addressing students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. The Teacher in Training provides academic, social, and emotional services to students, uses SESI instructional models, strategies, and curriculum, and works with school teams and families to support student outcomes. The role uses assessment data to inform instructional plans and includes participation in daily school functions, meetings, conferences, and training.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
• Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
• Ability to adapt and remain flexible in a dynamic educational environment.

Responsibilities

• Work with students from diverse developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
• Teach knowledge and skills, nurture students’ confidence and character, and provide individualized attention.
• Use assessment data to modify short- and long-term plans to promote academic performance.
• Develop and maintain skill-appropriate lesson plans.
• Collaborate with team members to foster critical thinking and academic rigor.
• Apply the school’s behavior support and intervention strategies.
• Use de-escalation techniques, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain student and team-member safety.
• Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward goals; develop and maintain required forms and files.
• Participate in daily school functions, including morning, lunch, and afternoon supervisory duties, as well as conferences, meetings, and training.
