About The Position
Specialized Education Services, Inc. (SESI), a division of FullBloom, provides education services for K–12 students who need additional support to succeed in traditional school settings. SESI partners with school districts to operate in-district classrooms and standalone schools serving students’ academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs. The Teacher in Training works with students in diverse educational settings, using SESI’s evidence-based instructional models, curricula, and positive behavioral interventions and support framework to address learning and social-emotional skill gaps. The role includes developing individualized lessons, supporting student growth, collaborating with school teams and families, and maintaining student records. The position offers paid training and credentialing support, professional development, smaller class sizes, and a comprehensive benefits package.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution of higher learning.
- Valid teaching credential appropriate to the role.
- Commitment to learning and implementing feedback.
- Adaptability and flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Work with students from varying developmental, cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
- Use SESI’s instructional models, strategies, and curricula to teach knowledge and skills, build confidence and character, and meet students’ needs.
- Develop and maintain individualized, skill-appropriate lesson plans.
- Implement behavior management and intervention strategies, including de-escalation, crisis management, and physical restraint when necessary to maintain safety.
- Maintain student documents, including individualized education plans (IEPs), behavior intervention plans (BIPs), incident reports, and high-risk evaluation forms.
- Drive, record, and track student growth and progress toward academic, social, and emotional goals.
- Supervise and monitor students, including during movement to and from locations within the school.
