About The Position

Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and in harmony with the goals, establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects, and the like to communicate these objectives to students. Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved. Strives to implement, by instruction and action, the District's philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives. This role is for Exceptional Student Education (ESE) positions, with a variety of roles available that have varying qualifications. The minimum qualifications for Autism, Deaf/Hard of Hearing, EBD, Gifted, PLA, SLA, Physically Impaired, VE and PreK-Handicapped are as follows: Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Experience: None required. Salary is based on verified years of teaching experience. Certifications & Licenses: Must be eligible for Florida Department of Education Certification in appropriate subject area.

  • Ability to plan and implement a program of study that meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of students.

Nice To Haves

  • Background in behavior management techniques is strongly recommended for ESE Intervention Representative positions.
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder Endorsement preferred for ESE Certified Behavior Analyst positions.

  • Ability to devote additional hours beyond the workday for grading papers, preparation of lesson plans, etc.
  • Ability to manage students.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks.

Benefits

  • TEACHER STARTING SALARY IS $48,700.
  • Additional Referendum money is available for the next four years starting at $7730 for the 26-27 school year; teachers hired during the school year will receive a prorated supplement amount based on the date of hire.
