About The Position

This is a temporary assignment for an Early Childhood Special Education Teacher focusing on Extensive Support Needs (ESN) at Harriet Tubman CDC for the 2026-27 school year. The position is from 10/02/26 through 03/24/27. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Eligible for employment in the US.
  • Pass a criminal background check.
  • Possess, or be willing to earn, a California teaching credential authorizing instruction in core curriculum.
  • Completed online application.
  • Resume and cover letter.
  • Two current professional references, including from a supervisor.
  • Proof of COVID-19 vaccination or commitment to weekly testing upon request.

Responsibilities

  • Teach Early Childhood Special Education students with Extensive Support Needs (ESN).
  • Build and maintain caring relationships with students and families.
  • Maintain high expectations for all students through a persistent asset-based lens.
  • Create more equitable conditions in public schools.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, families, and students.
  • Engage in self-reflection, listening, and incorporating feedback to grow as an educator and leader.
  • Work towards eliminating racism in educational systems and policies.
