About The Position

This is an anticipated full-time instructional vacancy for the 2026–2027 school year at Thomas E. Weightman Middle School in Wesley Chapel, Florida. The position is for middle school grades 6–8, is scheduled for 196 days per year, and is benefit eligible. The estimated start date is listed as immediately. The teacher develops, plans, organizes, and implements an instructional program for students through curriculum, lesson plans, and educational programs. The teacher follows applicable procedures to maintain safety and security and comply with federal, state, and local regulations. For secondary education, the position may require teaching an additional period beyond the base contract. If required, the additional period is compensated at the effective negotiated rate, paid as a supplement in equal payments according to the District’s established payroll calendar, and counted as salary for Florida Retirement System purposes. Employment requires background screening, including fingerprinting and Level II screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, or approval by or participation in a state-approved certification pathway program.
Valid Florida Educator’s Certificate or District-issued adjunct certification, or a valid statement of eligibility.
Complete required fingerprinting and Level II background screening.
