About The Position

The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate classroom for two-year-old children. The role assists with daily activities and routines, supports children’s social-emotional development, helps maintain classroom cleanliness, and contributes to engaging learning experiences. The ideal candidate is patient, enthusiastic, reliable, and passionate about working with children during this stage of growth and development.

The position is with The Learning Experience in West Chester. The curriculum uses hands-on learning activities focused on early childhood development, encouraging children to explore and solve problems at their own pace. This franchise is independently owned and operated; applications and hiring decisions are handled by the franchisee.

Requirements

• High school diploma; college education preferred.
• Genuine love for working with children.
• CPR and first aid.
• Previous childcare or early childhood education experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom routines, lesson activities, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
• Provide attentive, caring support while encouraging children’s independence, curiosity, and confidence.
• Support children as they develop language, social skills, emotional regulation, and self-help abilities.
• Assist with diapering, potty-training routines, handwashing, meals, snacks, and rest time.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
• Closely supervise children and follow health, safety, and supervision procedures.
• Communicate professionally and warmly with families and team members.
• Prepare materials and supplies for learning centers and activities.
• Follow The Learning Experience curriculum, policies, and state licensing requirements.
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and school leadership to support each child’s individual needs.
