Teacher Assistant
About The Position
People Incorporated of Virginia is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Teacher Assistant for the Child and Family Development program at Abingdon Head Start Center. This position provides support to classroom teachers in direct educational instruction with a focus on individualization. The Teacher Assistant will communicate and collaborate with teachers and staff to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that meets the diverse needs of children. This role also assists with conducting child health assessments and conducts regular data entry and completes documentation.
Requirements
- A minimum of three months classroom experience working with children required.
- A high school diploma/GED is required.
- A valid driver's license required.
- Excellent driving record required.
- Reliable transportation required.
Nice To Haves
- CDA required within two years of hire.
