About The Position

Tiverton Public Schools is seeking dedicated and student-centered Teacher Assistants to support students and staff at Tiverton High School. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to support students' academic, behavioral, social-emotional, and functional needs within the general education and special education settings.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience working with students in an educational setting preferred.
Knowledge of child development and behavior management techniques.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed.

Nice To Haves

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
Experience with special education students and IEP implementation.
Bilingual skills (specify language if applicable).

Responsibilities

Provide instructional support to students individually and in small groups under the direction of certified staff.
Assist students in accessing curriculum, completing assignments, and developing organizational skills.
Support the implementation of IEP accommodations, modifications, behavior support plans, and other individualized programming.
Facilitate student participation in classroom activities, school events, and community-based learning opportunities as appropriate.
Assist with data collection and progress monitoring.
Support students with social-emotional regulation, communication, and independent living skills as needed.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, special educators, related service providers, and administrators.
Maintain confidentiality regarding student information in accordance with FERPA and district policies.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designee.
