About The Position

Torah Academy is hiring dedicated, creative, and warm middle school teachers for both humanities and STEM positions. These roles are ideal for a current graduate student, someone interested in exploring becoming a teacher, or a recently retired teacher who isn’t quite ready to leave it all behind! Requirements

  • Prior successful experience with middle school students.
  • Background in the appropriate academic area.
  • A strong commitment to practicing differentiated instruction.
  • Passionate about educating children.
  • Creative and think outside the box when it comes to challenging young minds.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with grade level secular academic expectations is a big plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create a warm, caring, and safe environment Students are at the heart of what we do. When they know that they are cared for, students come ready to learn. This includes building nurturing relationships with students and providing age-appropriate levels of student supervision, classroom rules, and routines.
  • Create and implement lesson plans You will be responsible for teaching either ELA and Social Studies or Math and Science to middle school boys. Our curriculum is aligned with Massachusetts state standards. Your creativity will shine in the activities you plan to engage student interest in the content as you build their academic skills and content knowledge.
  • Monitor and communicate student progress Provide feedback to students and their families on academic, social, and behavioral progress. Maintain appropriate records. Create two-way communication channels with families so they are updated on their child’s progress.
  • Other responsibilities As assigned by the Head of School.
