About The Position

Chambliss Center for Children is hiring a part-time Teacher Assistant (Floater) at its Red Bank location. The floater supports classrooms serving children from infancy through PreK, moving between rooms according to where assistance is needed. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with no nights or weekends. Pay is $11–$14.50 or more per hour, based on education and experience: $11 per hour with a high school diploma, $13 per hour with a CDA, and $14.50 per hour with an Associate’s degree.

The role involves supporting teachers, engaging children in age-appropriate activities, maintaining safe and organized classrooms, and covering teacher breaks and busy periods. Classroom or childcare experience is helpful but not required; training and support to learn are offered. The position is located at 1936 Dayton Blvd., Red Bank, TN 37415.

Requirements

• Must be 18 or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Able to pass a fingerprint background check.
• Reliable, patient, friendly, and flexible.
• Comfortable working with different age groups throughout the day.

Nice To Haves

• Classroom or childcare experience is a plus but is not required.

Responsibilities

• Move between classrooms to support teachers where assistance is needed.
• Supervise, play with, and engage children in age-appropriate activities.
• Help keep classrooms safe, clean, and organized.
• Cover teacher breaks and assist during the busiest parts of the day.
