About The Position

This position is set to begin on July 27th. The Teacher Assistant Floater will work 40 hours a week. The role involves assisting the classroom team in maintaining a safe, healthy, high-quality learning experience and environment that advances the development of the whole child. The position requires compliance with all CPCD policies and procedures, Head Start Performance Standards, Colorado Department of Human Services licensing requirements, and the Colorado Quality Standards for Early Childhood Education Services. The Teacher Assistant Floater will facilitate a balance of group and individualized experiences to promote the development of school readiness skills as defined by CPCD’s School Readiness Action Plan. The Teacher Assistant Floater will be required to travel among classrooms/sites as directed by the CD Supervisor.

Requirements

  • Must have access to reliable transportation to perform functions of the job including being able to go to other locations during the workday, and must maintain a minimum liability insurance as determined by the State of Colorado.
  • CDA or the Early Childhood Professional Level II credential through the State of Colorado’s Professional Development Information System (PDIS), or plan to obtain within two years of hire.
  • Must obtain First Aid, CPR, within 1 year of employment and maintain as required.
  • Must be able to lift/carry/manipulate up to 40 pounds.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment physical examination, TB test, drug test (including marijuana), and background check in accordance with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards and Childcare Licensing. (Physical examination and TB test thereafter as required).

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year of successful work experience with children birth to age five.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish or other language relevant to the community served)
  • PDIS level II - DQ
