About The Position

The Teacher Assistant 1 assists the classroom teacher with implementing the educational program. The role reports to the Center Manager and is part-time, scheduled Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM to 5:30 PM, with Saturdays and Sundays off. Pay is $16.35 per hour. Weekly earned wage access is available as an option.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of and ability to use appropriate software applications.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good childcare and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead people and to be honest, trustworthy, and dependable.
• Ability to multitask; self-motivation; teamwork; adaptability; and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the safety and behavior of children in the classroom, on the bus, and on the playground.
• Help set up indoor and outdoor environments for the day's activities.
• Assist with teaching according to children's individual developmental needs.
• Observe and record children's behavior to help the teacher identify each child's strengths and areas for growth.
• Attend parent meetings, home visits, and parent-teacher conferences as needed.
• Assist children during meals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
