About The Position

The Teacher Assistant 1 assists the classroom teacher with implementing the educational program. The role supports children’s safety, classroom activities, developmental learning, observations, meals, and family engagement. The position reports to the Center Manager. It is part-time, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 AM to 2:30 PM, at $16.35 per hour. Weekly earned wage access is available as an option.

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of and ability to work with appropriate software applications.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Good childcare and decision-making skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to lead people and be honest, trustworthy, and dependable.
• Ability to multitask; self-motivated, a team player, adaptable, and able to manage time.

Responsibilities

• Monitor children’s safety and behavior in the classroom, on the bus, and on the playground.
• Help set up indoor and outdoor environments for daily activities.
• Assist with teaching based on children’s individual developmental needs.
• Observe and record children’s behaviors to help the teacher identify each child’s strengths and areas for growth.
• Attend parent meetings, home visits, and parent/teacher conferences as needed.
• Assist children during meals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
