About The Position

ACCEL Schools is hiring a highly qualified Title 1 Teacher at Cornerstone Academy in Westerville, Ohio. The role is dedicated to providing a superior education for all students and bringing the curriculum to life in a positive classroom environment that prioritizes student learning and social-emotional development. Cornerstone Academy serves Northeast Columbus communities with a college-preparatory education for students in grades K–12. Its program emphasizes art, music, and STEM and includes specialty classes, clubs, sports, and activities. The school is part of ACCEL Schools, a network of public charter schools serving students throughout the United States.

Requirements

Active and current Ohio teaching license in the appropriate content area.
Bachelor’s degree in education or a related field.
Comfort working in a growth-focused coaching environment involving frequent observations, debriefs, action planning, and progress monitoring.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to properly manage confidential information.
Ability to supervise students of various ages in different school settings, including playgrounds and cafeterias.
Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks.
Experience working within an urban environment.

Responsibilities

Prepare and deliver lesson plans, modifying them as needed during the school year.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
Maintain accurate and complete records of students’ progress and development.
Use research-based best practices in daily planning and classroom instruction.
Manage student behavior in the classroom.
Create a positive classroom environment for student learning.
Use school-approved curricula that reflect students’ diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds.
Implement school-wide culture expectations and norms.
Communicate and meet with families about their child’s academic and social-emotional growth.
Incorporate technology skills into daily classroom practice to support learning.
Participate in planning and implementing non-instructional activities as needed.
Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues.
Perform other duties as assigned.
