About The Position
This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to work in the field of special education and collaborate with teachers, other teacher aides/assistants and therapists. It is a great opportunity for college students or high school graduates seeking an academic school experience with special needs children. The school year follows most school districts’ calendars. The positions are 10-month per diem positions, including working the 10-month academic year.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Initial medical exam is required
- Background clearances are required
- Must be able to handle children weighing up to 50 pounds
Nice To Haves
- Special Education classroom experience a plus
Responsibilities
- Working on social, emotional and academic development of students
- Assisting children with personal care
