The Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) is seeking a Teacher 1 (Special Education - Intervention Specialist) to provide individualized instruction to students at the Circleville Juvenile Correctional Facility (CJCF) Ralph Starsky High School. This role involves assessing educational needs, developing and implementing lesson plans, teaching academic and career-tech subjects, and supporting students in various life skills. DYS is committed to improving Ohio's future by habilitating youth and empowering families and communities, aiming to provide all youth with an opportunity to reach their greatest potential. Staff are considered the greatest resource in this mission. DYS is the juvenile corrections system for the state of Ohio, mandated to confine felony offenders aged 10-21 committed by juvenile courts. Youth in DYS facilities engage in programming designed to address criminological and behavioral needs, reaching thousands of youth in facilities and on parole.
