Requirements

  • Baccalaureate degree
  • Adult Educator four-year permit or eligibility to receive one from the Ohio Department of Education
  • Current Teacher Certificate appropriate for the assigned grade level
  • Job Skills: Education, Developing Others, Emotional Intelligence, Cultural Awareness, Customer Focus

Responsibilities

  • Develops lesson plans to address needs, including individualized training for assignments.
  • Provides necessary instruction for Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program.
  • Administers necessary tests.
  • Evaluates inmates and provides necessary direction.
  • Maintains discipline and/or security of the instructional area.
  • Attends education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in-service training.
  • Prepares required records and reports.
  • Maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials.
  • Performs other education and/or related duties as requested by education administrators.
  • Performs other duties as required on assignment.
