About The Position

The State of Ohio, Department of Rehabilitation and Correction is seeking a Teacher 1 to provide instruction for the Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program. This role involves developing lesson plans, administering tests, maintaining discipline, attending meetings, preparing reports, and managing supplies. Requirements

• Baccalaureate degree and an Adult Educator four-year permit, or eligibility to receive a four-year permit from the Ohio Department of Education.
• Any current Teacher Certificate appropriate for the assigned grade level.
• Teacher 1, 71721, must also have a baccalaureate degree or less.

Responsibilities

• Develops lesson plans to address needs, including individualized training for assignments.
• Provides necessary instruction for Adult Basic Education/General Education Development program.
• Administers necessary tests.
• Evaluates inmates and provides necessary direction.
• Maintains discipline and/or security of the instructional area.
• Attends education meetings, unit staff meetings, and in-service training.
• Prepares required records and reports.
• Maintains inventory and orders supplies and materials needed.
• Performs other education and/or related duties as requested by education administrators.
• Performs other duties as required on assignment.
