About The Position

The Clerk position in the RP Travel Center is responsible for delivering excellent customer service while supporting daily retail operations in a safe, clean, and efficient environment. The role also involves extensive custodial tasks such as cleaning sales areas, restrooms, pumps, windows, and surrounding outdoor spaces. Employees are expected to build strong guest relationships, provide friendly and prompt service, maintain knowledge of services and promotions, assist with training new clerks, and demonstrate teamwork, professionalism, and adherence to Laguna Development Corporation (LDC) policies and core values while working flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 18 years old
  • Basic math skills
  • Basic computer skills
  • Proficiency with cash registers
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., and frequent bending, reaching, and repetitive hand use
  • Mental demands include organizing, planning, decision-making, and reading/writing tasks
  • Passing a background check
  • Passing a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening
  • Obtaining and maintaining Serv-Safe certification

  • Greeting customers
  • Operating a point-of-sale system to process cash, check, and card transactions
  • Maintaining accurate cash drawers and issuing receipts

  • Verifying age for lottery and tobacco sales
