•$85,800 - $101,400•Remote

About The Position

Filed is hiring a fully remote Tax Technology Specialist to help accounting firms adopt and succeed with its AI tax preparation product. The role is open to candidates based anywhere in the United States outside New York. The specialist owns the customer transition from signing through onboarding and the first eight weeks of product use, working with groups of 5 to 10 firms at a time. Responsibilities span technical demonstrations, onboarding, training, customer relationships, product feedback, and translating customer needs to engineering. The role requires a background preparing or reviewing tax returns at a firm, credibility with tax professionals, comfort with customer-facing work, and proficiency with at least some major tax platforms. The environment is described as fast-paced and high-performance, with especially intense onboarding deadlines in December and January and a February 1 freeze. The role is assessed at Level 3, with three salary-and-equity offer options: $85,800 plus $130,027 in equity; $93,600 plus $86,684 in equity; or $101,400 plus $43,342 in equity. Compensation may be adjusted if the candidate is assessed at a different level.

Requirements

  • Have prepared or reviewed real tax returns inside a real firm; credentials are welcome but not required.
  • Have strong expertise in either individual returns (1040) or business returns (1065, 1120, 1120-S, 990, or 1041); strength in both is a plus.
  • Be comfortable in front of customers, including demos, training, difficult conversations, and escalations.
  • Have a high degree of confidence using a few major tax platforms, such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProConnect, Drake, or GoSystem.
  • Learn software quickly, including new product surfaces, workflows, and integrations.
  • Be comfortable making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Be empathetic and curious, and focus on building for users as well as technical correctness.
  • Collaborate across product, engineering, and tax teams.
  • Be detail-oriented and pragmatic, knowing when precision matters and when to move forward.
  • Take ownership of work and welcome accountability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with both individual and business tax returns.
  • Experience implementing SurePrep, GruntWorx, or AutoFlow, or rolling out new software across a firm.
  • Relevant tax credentials.

Responsibilities

  • Run technical demonstrations alongside sales for firms that need a tax professional involved.
  • Onboard firms in groups and serve as their point person until they are successfully using Filed, with customer support as backup.
  • Manage the customer relationship through the eight-week period that determines whether a firm succeeds or churns.
  • Deliver webinars and training sessions and help firms learn to use Filed effectively.
  • Translate customer feedback and friction into actionable input for product and engineering teams.
  • Develop sufficient product expertise to earn customer trust, including identifying output that would not pass a reviewer.
  • Own the customer transition from signing through onboarding and productive use of the product.

Benefits

  • Platinum-level medical insurance fully covered for the employee, with 100% coverage for dependents.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Vision insurance.
  • 401(k) retirement plan.
  • Paid maternity and paternity leave.
  • At least 30 days of paid holiday per year.
  • Choice of a current computer and a budget for home office setup.
