Tax Technology Specialist

Filed•New York, NY
•$100,100 - $118,300

About The Position

As a Tax Technology Specialist at Filed, you own the transition from a firm signing up to genuinely working with Filed. You run technical demos alongside sales, onboard groups of 5 to 10 firms, and remain each firm’s point person through the eight-week period that determines whether it succeeds. You teach firms through webinars and training, support their ongoing adoption, and relay user feedback to product and engineering so recurring friction can be addressed. You must know the product well enough to earn users’ trust, including identifying output that would not pass a tax reviewer. The role involves frequent customer calls, demanding conversations, and a fast-paced seasonal calendar, with firms expected to complete implementation before the February 1 freeze. Filed describes its working environment as high-performance, collaborative, accountable, and focused on customer experience. The role is assessed at Level 3, with three compensation offers ranging from $100,100 to $118,300 per year, plus differing equity amounts.

Requirements

  • Have prepared or reviewed actual tax returns within a real firm; credentials are welcome but not required.

  • Be comfortable in customer-facing situations, including demonstrations, training, difficult conversations, and escalations.
  • Have strong working knowledge of at least a few major tax platforms, such as CCH Axcess, UltraTax, Lacerte, ProConnect, Drake, or GoSystem.
  • Learn software quickly and be comfortable with new product interfaces, workflows, and integration discussions.
  • Be comfortable with uncertainty and making decisions with incomplete information.
  • Be empathetic and curious, and build for users as well as technical correctness.
  • Collaborate effectively across product, engineering, and tax.
  • Be detail-oriented and pragmatic, understanding when precision matters and when to move forward.
  • Take ownership of work and welcome accountability.
