About The Position

This position will lead and manage all aspects of technically complex tax engagements, including consulting, planning and compliance projects for closely held multi-tiered pass-through entities and C corps. In this role, you will work closely leading the tax preparation team by providing them guidance, direction and leadership throughout the engagement cycle. This role will be achieved in a remote or hybrid (San Diego, CA) environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business with a certificate in accounting from an accredited university
Minimum of 10 years of increasing levels of responsibility in tax with a regional or large local CPA firm
Must be an Active CPA
Prior tax experience with Partnerships, S-Corps, and Pass-Through Entities
Demonstrably strong leadership skills
In-depth knowledge of tax laws and regulations
Ability to interact well with others in a team environment, as well as being able to work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation
Strong understanding of tax technology.
Axcess Tax/Engagement experience and experience working in a paperless environment is a plus.
Successful business development skills with proven track record a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage all aspects of technically complex tax engagements, including consulting, planning and compliance projects for closely held multi-tiered pass-through entities and C corps.
Work closely leading the tax preparation team by providing them guidance, direction and leadership throughout the engagement cycle.
Assist clients with their planning and lead and ensure the team maintains a high degree of accuracy and timeliness of the preparation of tax returns, estimates and projections.
Ensure your team is engaged and excited by listening and assisting in the development of team members’ goals to meet department objectives while also providing opportunities for them to grow.
Deliver quality internal and external client service, in accordance with the Firm’s values, in order to build and maintain client loyalty and teamwork by contributing to a positive client and team member experience.
Focus on solutions and problem solving creatively in order to help make timely decisions by translating requests into action.
