Tax Reporting Test Analyst (CONTRACT) REMOTE

Broadridge•Newark, NJ
•$60 - $70•Remote

About The Position

Broadridge is seeking a remote Tax Reporting Test Analyst on a contract basis to support tax reporting initiatives, system enhancements, and regulatory changes. The role combines tax reporting knowledge with hands-on QA/UAT testing, data validation, reconciliation, and defect management. The analyst will validate end-to-end results from source and history data through core processing, tax form box calculations, and final reporting outputs, working with financial-services data and tax reporting systems. The analyst will collaborate with Development, Product, Operations, QA, UAT, and Tax teams; manage assigned testing activities and defects through completion; and maintain test cases, evidence, reconciliation results, and implementation documentation. Work supports annual tax-year changes, regulatory updates, migrations, conversions, dress rehearsals, and production implementations.

Requirements

  • At least 5 years of experience in tax reporting, QA/UAT testing, tax data analysis, operations testing, or a similar financial-services role, combining tax domain knowledge and hands-on testing.
  • Strong hands-on QA and UAT experience, including functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, system-validation, and production-validation testing.
  • Experience developing and executing detailed test scenarios, test cases, test data, and expected results.
  • Experience testing end-to-end tax data across transaction/history data, core processing tables, tax form box calculations, and final reporting outputs.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including experience with large datasets, reconciliations, exception analysis, and root-cause investigation.
  • Proficiency with SQL and Microsoft Excel for data validation, reconciliation, research, and testing.
  • Strong hands-on JIRA experience, including creating and managing defects, recording expected and actual results, tracking issues through resolution, supporting retesting, and maintaining testing status and evidence.
  • Experience validating source-to-target mappings, data transformations, calculations, business rules, file layouts, reference data, and system configuration.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, tracking, retesting, and closing defects with clear reproduction steps and supporting data.
  • Experience in brokerage, wealth management, banking, securities processing, asset servicing, or financial reporting environments.
  • Experience with large-volume data reconciliation and comparison testing.
  • Ability to independently manage assigned QA/UAT activities, reconciliations, defects, and test evidence through completion.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent testing priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with or testing tax reporting systems or tax data platforms.
  • Experience with tax information reporting, including Forms 5498, 5498-ESA, 1042-S, and 1099 reporting.
  • Familiarity with retirement reporting, NRA reporting, income reporting, withholding, brokerage transactions, and securities processing.
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid project-delivery methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute QA and UAT scenarios and test cases for functional, regression, integration, end-to-end, dress rehearsal, and production-validation testing.
  • Apply tax reporting knowledge to determine expected processing results, identify test scenarios, and validate system behavior.
  • Review business, functional, and tax reporting requirements and translate them into testing scenarios and expected results.
  • Identify test populations, test data, expected results, dependencies, prerequisite processing, and coverage needs.
  • Validate end-to-end tax data processing from transaction/history data through core tables, business-rule processing, tax form box calculations, and final reporting outputs.
  • Perform detailed data validation and reconciliation to identify discrepancies among source/history data, processed data, expected results, and tax reporting outputs.
  • Use SQL and Excel to research data, develop test populations, validate results, reconcile large datasets, and investigate discrepancies.
  • Validate source-to-target mappings, file layouts, transformations, calculations, tax business rules, reference data, and system configuration.
  • Validate tax forms and reporting outputs against source data, expected results, requirements, and applicable tax reporting rules.
  • Execute positive, negative, boundary, exception, and regression testing to confirm functionality and identify unintended impacts.
  • Document defects in JIRA with reproduction steps, supporting data, expected results, and actual results; manage them through analysis, remediation, retesting, regression testing, and closure.
  • Partner with Development, Product, Operations, QA, UAT, and Tax teams to investigate and resolve tax reporting, testing, and data discrepancies.
  • Track test execution, defects, blockers, dependencies, and outstanding items through resolution.
  • Maintain test cases, test evidence, reconciliation results, defect documentation, and supporting implementation and production-readiness documentation.
  • Support annual tax-year changes, regulatory updates, system migrations, conversions, dress rehearsals, and production implementations.
