Tax Partnerships Lead

Crux
$100,000 - $200,000Remote

About The Position

Crux is seeking a Tax Partnerships Lead to accelerate its channel program and strategic partnerships with accounting and tax advisory firms. This role is crucial for the capital side of the business, as channel partners bring buyers and investors to the platform, enhance market intelligence, and solidify Crux's position in the clean economy. The Tax Partnerships Lead will manage these relationships end-to-end, focusing on refining enablement strategies, cultivating internal champions, tightening qualification, and collaborating with commercial and marketing teams to drive conversion. This is a high-autonomy individual contributor role reporting to the Partnerships Principal, requiring the ability to credibly represent Crux in discussions with tax partners and firm business development teams.

Requirements

  • Genuine tax fluency, with the ability to converse credibly with Big 4 tax partners or in-house tax executives, understanding how tax considerations drive deal structures and client advice from experience.
  • Professional services instincts, understanding the internal workings of accounting firms in transactions, including their BD operations, independence and compliance constraints, billing relationship impacts, and partner motivations for referrals.
  • Proven relationship-building capabilities with a history of establishing impactful relationships at enterprise-level partners.
  • Commercial accountability, with a track record of driving material commercial outcomes from relationships (e.g., revenue, pipeline contribution, conversion metrics).
  • Builder's mindset with a bias to action, approximately 6-8 years of experience, with a track record of owning meaningful workstreams or relationships independently.
  • Experience building playbooks or refining early versions, comfort working with limited support, and excitement to use AI tools as a force multiplier.
  • Cross-functional tact, with a track record of successful collaboration with multiple teams with limited direct authority, representing partner needs internally to build trust.
  • Curiosity and pace to ramp quickly on clean energy finance, transferable tax credits, and tax equity.
  • Appetite to take on new partner personas as the program scales.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a high-growth environment is a plus.
  • Experience in an accounting firm or transaction advisory practice, a tax technology or tax insurance channel team, or a structured finance seat.

Responsibilities

  • Scale existing high-performing, enterprise partners by deepening connectivity with large accounting firms, leading partner meetings, navigating internal BD teams and independence constraints, and building champions across business units and geographies.
  • Drive conversion in collaboration with Commercial leads by optimizing the partner playbook and systematizing referral lifecycles with conversion and revenue delivery as key success metrics.
  • Expand reach into the mid-market tier by scaling work with mid-market and regional accounting firms, including shaping new referral and co-sell structures.
  • Keep capital front and center by prioritizing relationships, business units, and referral types that bring tax credit buyers and tax equity investors onto the platform.
  • Strengthen the operating system by maintaining partner records, attribution, and pipeline alongside RevOps, tracking champion health and referral momentum, and refining playbooks for repeatability, utilizing AI tools.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration with Market Intelligence and Marketing to enhance mutual value through intelligence briefings, tailored reports, events, and client activation tactics.
  • Engage in market activities, including partner briefings, conferences, and roadshows, with approximately 25% travel.

  • 10 company holidays per year.
