About The Position

State & Local Tax Managers are part of the business tax team, managing client relationships and ensuring multi-state tax compliance and consulting projects are completed and delivered within expected timelines. The role includes preparing and reviewing multi-state tax returns and filings, advising clients on state and local tax matters, and researching relevant tax regulations and their impact on client operations. Managers build and strengthen client relationships by learning clients’ businesses and operations across jurisdictions, communicating and meeting with clients as requested, and recommending ways to address their state and local tax needs.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar role within a public accounting firm.
• Experience with multi-state taxation and SALT consulting.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience.
• CPA certification or ability to attain CPA certification.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review multi-state tax returns and filings.
• Advise clients on state and local tax issues.
• Research state and local tax regulations and assess their impact on client operations.
• Build new and strengthen existing client relationships by demonstrating knowledge of clients’ businesses and operations across multiple jurisdictions.
• Communicate and meet with clients as requested.
• Provide recommendations to assist clients with state and local tax needs.
• Manage client relationships and ensure tax compliance and consulting projects are delivered within expected timelines.
