Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Active CPA or EA designation
  • 5–10 years of public accounting experience
  • Experience reviewing business and individual tax returns
  • Strong tax planning and research capabilities
  • Excellent client communication and relationship-building skills
  • Leadership and supervisory experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex tax planning and compliance engagements
  • Review individual, corporate, partnership, fiduciary, and trust tax returns
  • Develop proactive strategies designed to minimize tax liabilities and maximize opportunities
  • Identify tax-saving opportunities for business owners and individuals
  • Research and resolve sophisticated federal, state, and local tax matters
  • Serve as the primary advisor for assigned client relationships
  • Meet with business owners and executives to discuss planning opportunities
  • Coordinate with attorneys, bankers, financial advisors, and other professional partners
  • Develop long-term trusted advisor relationships
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and deepen client relationships
  • Supervise Associates and Senior Associates
  • Review workpapers, tax returns, and planning projects
  • Mentor and develop future leaders within the firm
  • Provide performance feedback and coaching
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, training, and retention efforts
  • Conduct advanced tax research and communicate recommendations clearly
  • Support estate, trust, and wealth transfer planning initiatives
  • Advise clients regarding SALT and multi-state tax issues
  • Stay current on evolving tax laws and regulations
  • Serve as a technical resource for both clients and internal team members
