Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Active CPA or EA designation
  • 5–10 years of public accounting experience
  • Experience reviewing business and individual tax returns
  • Strong tax planning and research capabilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Leadership and mentoring experience
  • Strong analytical and organizational abilities

Responsibilities

  • Lead complex tax planning and compliance engagements
  • Review corporate, partnership, S-corporation, fiduciary, and individual tax returns
  • Develop proactive strategies designed to minimize tax liabilities and maximize client opportunities
  • Research and resolve complex federal, state, and local tax matters
  • Identify planning opportunities related to business growth, ownership transitions, and wealth preservation
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to business owners and key client contacts
  • Build and maintain long-term client relationships
  • Conduct planning meetings and strategic discussions throughout the year
  • Coordinate with attorneys, financial advisors, and other professional service providers
  • Identify opportunities to expand client relationships and firm services
  • Supervise Associates and Senior Associates
  • Review workpapers, returns, and planning projects
  • Mentor and develop future firm leaders
  • Provide performance feedback, coaching, and career guidance
  • Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and training initiatives
  • Conduct advanced tax research and communicate findings effectively
  • Support estate, gift, trust, and fiduciary tax matters
  • Advise clients on multi-state and SALT-related issues
  • Stay current on changing tax laws and regulations
  • Serve as a technical resource for staff and clients
