About The Position

The Tax Manager is responsible for ensuring tax accounting matters are timely and accurately addressed for calculations prepared and reviewed by the manager. Additionally, this position ensures that income and other tax liabilities are properly reflected and disclosed in financial statements. This role requires associates to be in-office 1-2 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office. Candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law. Requirements

  • BA/BS in accounting and a minimum of 6 years of tax experience, public accounting or the equivalent; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred.
  • Insurance industry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the tax director with the quarterly and annual income tax provision process under ASC 740, including current/deferred tax calculations, effective tax rate analysis, return-to-provision true-ups, and discrete item analysis.
  • Prepares related tax disclosures for statutory or GAAP financial statements and miscellaneous state and local tax filings.
  • Maintain and reconcile deferred tax balances, including scheduling of temporary differences, valuation allowance analysis, and support for deferred tax roll-forwards.
  • Researches and analyzes tax developments and their application to specific business situations.
  • Assists or leads other tax department activities, including projects, and tax examinations.
  • Assists with the development and training of other department members.
