About The Position

The Tax Manager will prepare, review, and sign individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients in various entities and industries. This role involves working with the tax team on tax planning, client interaction, and special tax projects, ensuring maximum tax benefit is applied by analyzing tax situations from various angles. The Tax Manager will develop and communicate solutions to the engagement team and client, manage client relationships by monitoring needs and building value, and participate in business development. This position may also assist with client billings and will supervise and delegate duties to Associate and Senior Associate level staff, while providing mentoring and technical training for employees in the tax department. Attending training seminars, professional development, and networking events is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
  • 5-7 years of tax experience within public accounting.
  • Extensive knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
  • Actively stay up-to-date on the ever-changing tax industry's regulations and policies.
  • Self-starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to focus on complex tasks and will quickly understand the firm’s comprehensive compliance processes.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares, Reviews, and Sign individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients in various types of entities and industries.
  • Working with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed -- including tax planning, client interaction and performing special tax projects.
  • Looking at tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
  • Developing solutions and communicating those solutions to the engagement team and client.
  • Manages client relationships by monitoring client needs and building value into professional service.
  • Participates in the area of business development.
  • May assist with client billings to ensure they reflect work performed.
  • Supervises and delegates duties to Associate and Senior Associate level staff.
  • Provides mentoring and technical training for employees in the tax department.
  • Attends training seminars, professional development, and networking events.
