Requirements

• CPA or EA designation
• 5+ years of public accounting tax experience
• Strong California tax experience
• Experience reviewing complex business and individual tax returns
• Strong understanding of pass-through entities and business taxation
• Strong client-facing and advisory skills
• Leadership and mentoring experience

Responsibilities

• Lead tax planning engagements for business and individual clients
• Identify proactive tax-saving opportunities
• Advise clients on California tax matters
• Research and resolve complex tax issues
• Support business consulting and strategic planning initiatives
• Review complex individual and business tax returns
• Ensure compliance with federal and California tax regulations
• Oversee engagement quality and technical accuracy
• Assist with tax notices, audits, and other tax authority matters
• Serve as a trusted advisor to clients
• Develop and maintain long-term business relationships
• Lead planning and advisory discussions
• Deliver exceptional year-round client service
• Mentor and develop tax staff, seniors, and supervisors
• Review work and provide technical guidance
• Assist with engagement management and workflow planning
• Support firm growth initiatives and process improvements
