About The Position

Join our globally integrated team of dedicated indirect tax professionals and you'll have the opportunity to combine your technical knowledge and industry understanding to identify risks and sustainable planning opportunities for our clients. You'll help us provide effective processes, improve day-to-day reporting, reduce attribution errors and costs, and ensure indirect taxes are handled correctly for our clients. You'll likely spend much of your time engaging in client consultations and challenging the unclaimed property and escheat approach for optimal effectiveness. We'll look to you to develop strong relationships with our clients and team effectively with internal resources while developing and coaching junior members of the team. To make that happen, we'll look to you to implement your extensive knowledge of unclaimed property concepts and requirements. You can expect to be working in a highly collaborative culture, where listening to and sharing information with colleagues is an essential part of the role. Advise on indirect tax regulatory changes; design strategies, operating models, processes, and compliance frameworks that raise efficiency and meet requirements. Identify opportunities for tax optimization, credits and refund recovery, exposure reduction; manage strategies, compliance, remediation, controversies, and corrective filings. Support process review and technology transformation.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree and 5 years of related work experience
  • CPA certification, Member of the US Bar or professional designation from the IPT
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant unclaimed property consulting experience within a professional services environment
  • Technical expertise and experience related to compliance, audit defense and consulting for abandoned and unclaimed property services
  • Performance and process advisory experience related to unclaimed property compliance
  • Broad exposure to state and local taxation
  • Excellent managerial, organizational, analytical and verbal/written communication skills
  • Willingness to travel as needed, and working in a balanced hybrid environment

Responsibilities

  • Translate regulatory changes into practical compliance and reporting solutions.
  • Implement operating models and frameworks across the indirect tax lifecycle.
  • Lead optimization, recovery, and exposure‑reduction initiatives.
  • Lead workstream delivery, track status and deliverables, and participate in client working sessions.
  • Identify opportunities for additional services, contribute to RFPs, manage engagement economics, and implement resource plans and budgets.
  • Guide teams, drive improvement, and recommend solutions by interpreting internal/external issues.

  • The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $105,100 to $192,600.
  • The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $126,100 to $218,900.
  • Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
