Your Taxpayer Services Division (TPS) is now taking applications for multiple Tax Information Specialist 4 positions within our Education and Outreach unit. ¿Hablas, lees y escribes español con fluidez? Requirements

Knowledge of: State of Washington Revenue Act of 1935, as amended, and related Washington Administrative Code regulations; business licensing provisions of Revised Code of Washington (RCW 19.02); rules, policies and opinions, writings and publications pertaining to the program; tax structure and public finance; methods of determining need for public information and education, state government, departmental organization, programs, and functions.
Demonstrated ability to research, interpret, and apply Washington tax laws, rules, policies, and related guidance materials, gained through progressive experience analyzing complex tax issues or performing tax policy, compliance, or advisory work.
Demonstrated skill in developing and delivering presentations or training to diverse audiences, including business owners, industry groups, tax professionals, or government entities, supported by prior experience providing workshops, webinars, or public speaking engagements.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex assignments and competing priorities to meet deadlines in an environment involving frequent interruptions, supported by past experience coordinating program activities, events, or deliverables.
Demonstrated customer-service orientation and ability to communicate effectively and empathetically with diverse audiences, including those with complex or challenging needs, as shown through experience providing assistance, guidance, or education in a public-facing role.

Nice To Haves

A bachelor's degree in business or public administration, accounting, public finance or closely allied field AND two (2) years of experience applying, researching, or analyzing tax policies, laws, rules, and regulations.
Fluent in reading, writing and speaking Spanish.

Responsibilities

Participates in and supports specific agency-wide programs focused on educating external customers on their business licensing and tax reporting responsibilities, and other education and outreach efforts to increase voluntary compliance.
Provide education and participate in workshops and speaking engagements to increase voluntary compliance.
Provide expert-level analysis and advice to management and staff for education and outreach.
Review, update, and evaluate website content to ensure the information is up to date.
Support and present on behalf of the agency’s Speaker Network program.
Create, review, and update taxpayer education training videos for posting on the agency website.
Build and update data slices in the ATLAS Testing (WAT) and/or Training (WAY) environments.
Conduct data research, analysis, and gather input from stakeholders.
Support Education & Outreach Team initiatives related to data analysis and industry-specific education.
