The Ohio Department of Taxation is responsible for the administration of individual and business taxes across the state. The Ohio Department of Taxation is seeking to fill up to two (2) Tax Examiner Manager positions in the Business Innovation Division.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate core program in accounting, business, public administration or related field which included 3 courses in accounting; 42 mos. exp. in accounting, auditing, &/or taxation; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles/techniques; 12 mos. exp. in customer service.
  • Graduate core program in accounting, business, public administration, or related field which included 3 courses in accounting; 30 mos. exp. in accounting, auditing, &/or taxation; 12 mos. exp. in supervisory principles & techniques; 12 mos. exp. in customer service.
  • 18 mos. exp. as a Tax Examiner Specialist, 66813.
  • Equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above.
  • For positions performing audits per the approved Position Description on file, qualifications are established in accordance with O.R.C. 5703.17.
  • Must provide own transportation unless State vehicle is provided.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate communication, requirements gathering, and issue resolution for tax programs
  • Effective communication skills for interacting with executive leadership, legal staff, technical teams, and program stakeholders
  • Provide direction and support for the entire system, including but not limited to OH|TAX eServices, virtual assistant initiatives, live chat operations, ticket workflows, and SQR processing
  • Manage cross‑functional teams in a regulatory environment
  • Utilize strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret statutory and policy requirements
