About The Position

Aligned Talent Acquisition is partnering with a nationally recognized Am Law firm seeking a Tax Associate Attorney for its investment funds practice in Chicago, Illinois. The attorney will work on sophisticated tax matters involving venture capital and private equity funds, collaborating with experienced attorneys, fund sponsors, and investors on investment structures and transactions.

The firm's tax practice advises fund sponsors, investors, and other market participants on complex tax matters involving investment funds and transactions. The role includes advising on fund formations, primary and secondary investments, joint ventures, and related investment structures, while developing client relationships and taking on increasing responsibility.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of tax experience, preferably representing investment fund sponsors and investors.
• Experience advising on venture capital funds, private equity funds, and investment fund formations.
• Familiarity with primary and secondary investments and joint venture structures.
• Strong tax research, drafting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing multiple concurrent matters in a fast-paced transactional environment.
• Excellent communication and client relationship skills.
• A proactive, motivated, and collaborative approach to client service.

Responsibilities

• Advise on tax aspects of venture capital and private equity fund formations.
• Represent fund sponsors and investors in investment fund matters.
• Provide tax guidance on primary and secondary investments.
• Advise on joint ventures and related investment structures.
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys across transactional practice groups.
• Develop client relationships and take on increasing responsibility.
