About The Position

A premier AmLaw 50 firm is seeking a Tax Associate Attorney to join its Boston office. This opportunity is ideal for an attorney interested in advising private equity sponsors, investment funds, public and private companies, REITs, institutional investors, and developers on sophisticated transactional tax matters.

Requirements

  • 3-4 years of transactional tax experience gained at a national or international law firm
  • Experience advising clients on the federal tax aspects of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, reorganizations, and other corporate transactions
  • Experience counseling clients regarding partnerships, limited liability companies (LLCs), joint ventures, and other pass-through entities
  • Experience supporting private equity transactions, fund formation, venture capital investments, and sponsor-side transactions
  • Experience advising on real estate transactions, real estate fund formation, REITs, and real estate investment structures
  • Experience collaborating with corporate, real estate, finance, and private investment funds attorneys on sophisticated, multidisciplinary transactions
  • Strong analytical, drafting, research, and client counseling skills
  • Ability to independently manage complex tax matters while maintaining significant client interaction
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school required
  • Massachusetts bar admission required or ability to become admitted

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with regulated investment companies (RICs), financing transactions, and capital markets transactions is preferred

Responsibilities
