About The Position

CLA is seeking Tax/Audit Interns for its Indianapolis location for Winter 2027. The role provides experience with tax preparation and audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services. Interns gain exposure to procedures, workpapers, systems, client engagements, industry knowledge, peers, clients, and formal training. They support multiple engagements and complete research and special projects as needed.

Requirements

• Working toward a bachelor's degree; a degree in Accounting or Finance is strongly preferred.
• Achieving the credit requirements to be eligible to sit for the CPA exam under state requirements.
• General knowledge of accounting principles and financial data reporting.
• Willingness to learn new technologies.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and Office products.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Prepare individual, corporate, partnership, and other types of tax returns.
• Perform audit, review, compilation, and other assurance services.
• Gain experience and knowledge of procedures, workpapers, and systems.
• Support multiple client engagements on time and within budget, identifying issues and communicating progress.
• Expand industry knowledge through exposure to peers and clients and through formal training opportunities.
• Complete research and special projects as needed.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with clients and CLA family members.
