About The Position

A growing, professionally managed organization is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Analyst to join its corporate tax function. This role offers broad exposure across federal and state income tax, sales and use tax, property tax, business licenses, tax accounting, audits, and special projects. Working closely with the Director of Global Tax, the Tax Analyst will support compliance, reporting, planning, process improvement, and tax authority matters. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, wants to expand across multiple areas of corporate taxation, and is comfortable contributing within a lean, hands-on team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Approximately three to five years of tax and accounting experience.
  • Public accounting, corporate tax, sales and use tax, or general tax compliance experience preferred.
  • Experience preparing account reconciliations and adjusting journal entries.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills; experience with tax software and ERP platforms is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze large data sets, identify discrepancies, and understand financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Experience navigating state Departments of Revenue websites is helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation and review of federal and state income tax workpapers and supporting schedules.
  • Gather and analyze financial information needed for tax-return preparation and review returns prepared by external service providers.
  • Support quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations under ASC 740.
  • Maintain tax schedules and calendars, track filing and payment deadlines, and respond to routine tax authority correspondence.
  • Assist with state apportionment, nexus reviews, state filings, and monitoring tax-law and regulatory developments.
  • Gather and review information supporting sales and use tax returns.
  • Analyze transactions for indirect tax compliance and assist with taxability determinations and exemption-certificate management.
  • Research state-specific requirements and support sales and use tax audits and inquiries.
  • Gather and analyze data for personal and real property tax renditions and returns.
  • Track assessment notices and payment deadlines and, with external providers, review assessments and identify appeal opportunities.
  • Assist with annual reports, business licenses, gross receipts tax filings, notices, and related documentation.
  • Collect and organize information requested during federal, state, sales and use, and property tax audits.
  • Maintain clear audit support, tax records, and process documentation.
  • Perform tax research using digital tax libraries and AI-enabled tools and summarize findings for the tax team.
  • Assist with tax planning initiatives, technology projects, and other special assignments.
  • Help maintain, document, and improve tax compliance processes.
  • Identify opportunities to use technology to streamline, standardize, and automate tax work.
  • Partner effectively with Accounting, Finance, and other internal stakeholders.
