About The Position

The Gurr Brothers family of companies is seeking an entrepreneurial CPA to launch and lead a tax and accounting practice within its organization. The role includes support from the company and its leadership and begins with a built-in client base consisting of affiliated companies, owners, and the leadership team. The practice leader will provide accounting and tax services, identify ways to save money, and help clients make informed financial decisions throughout the year. As the practice develops, there may be opportunities to serve outside clients when capacity allows.

The leader will shape the practice’s operations, workflows, client relationships, systems, staffing, and growth capacity while handling business and individual tax preparation and planning, accounting, QuickBooks, reconciliations, financial reporting, payroll needs, and coordination across related companies.

Requirements

• Active CPA license.
• Strong experience with business and individual tax preparation and planning.
• Hands-on accounting and QuickBooks skills.
• Experience working with business owners and multiple related entities.
• Initiative to build processes, manage priorities, and follow through.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and confidence leading client relationships.
• Sound judgment and discretion with confidential financial information.

Responsibilities

• Build and run the practice’s daily operations, workflows, and client relationships.
• Prepare and review business and individual tax returns.
• Identify deductions, credits, and proactive tax planning opportunities.
• Advise on the tax implications of purchases, distributions, and business decisions.
• Manage QuickBooks, reconciliations, financial reporting, and payroll needs.
• Coordinate financial activity across related companies.
• Help determine the systems, staffing, and capacity needed to grow.
• Provide accounting and tax services to affiliated companies, owners, and leadership, and potentially outside clients when capacity allows.
