The Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting the VP of Tax, Sr. Tax Manager and other Finance/Accounting personnel with tax compliance, reporting and independent contractor tax withholding on a state, federal and international level in accordance with prescribed company policies, procedures, programs, and practices. This role involves gathering data and filing various tax returns monthly, quarterly, and annually, ensuring all appropriate adjustments and exemptions are claimed and that the company’s tax liability is accurately determined. The Tax Accountant will review transactional data, reconcile workbooks computations, and prepare and record adjusting journal entries related to indirect tax accruals on a monthly basis. This position also assists with the registration and payment of various taxes including ticket, sales/use, VAT, athlete/entertainer, and contractor withholding tax. Additionally, the role assists with completing and collecting exemption and resale certificates, and tax calculations in purse and payment files for athlete, contractor, and officials’ payment deductions and tax withholding requirements for domestic and international events. The Tax Accountant will be responsible for the preparation of federal and state tax upload files for 1099 and 1042-s reporting and reconciliation of EFTPS throughout the year. This role also involves responding to accounts payable and athlete queries regarding W9 and W8 questions, responding to email queries from fighters or their representatives in a timely manner, and responding to tax notices from local and federal tax agencies. The Tax Accountant will manage outside tax consultants as needed and assist with tax budget amounts. Other duties as assigned.
