Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or Finance required
3 plus years of progressive accounting or finance experience with experience in state and local tax compliance required, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
Knowledge and experience using income tax preparation software; experience with Oracle is also preferred.
Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and Outlook.
Aptitude to independently research and resolve complex tax issues.
Strong written, verbal, and inter-personal communication skills

Nice To Haves

MST or CPA highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Preparation of state and local sales/use and property tax returns and supporting documentation.
Monthly preparation of multiple Chicago tax returns and use tax accrual Journal Entry.
Maintenance of customer sales tax exemption database, and follow-up with customers and suppliers regarding sales/use tax issues.
Management and successful resolution of state and local tax audits.
Research and resolution of complex tax issues impacting S&C business transactions.
Assist with preparation of federal income tax return.
Preparation of and supporting and document gathering for state income/franchise tax returns.
Preparation of responses to jurisdictional tax notices.
