About The Position

Hood River Distillers Tasting Room is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, and reliable individual with a genuine passion for craft spirits and exceptional customer service skills. Must be available to work weekend shifts and have flexibility to pick up or cover other shifts; will have the opportunity to work occasional outside events. $20/hr. plus tips. The individual holding this position possesses exceptional customer service skills and serves as the face of Hood River Distillers for retail and industry visitors to the distillery tasting room and at outside events. This role’s primary function is to educate consumers about the history, process and quality of the Hood River Distillers brand and products with a secondary function of completing retail sales.

Requirements

  • Valid Driver’s license
  • OLCC Server Permit required
  • High school diploma required
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence
  • Ability to communicate effectively with management, customers and employees
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a bar or restaurant and/or training in the alcohol industry desired

Responsibilities

  • Provide product tastings to public and industry guests
  • Be familiar with each product, manufacturing process, and product category
  • Must follow OLCC rules and regulations at all times
  • Perform retail sales, including processing of credit card and cash transactions
  • Staff outside promotional events as available
  • Clean glassware and stock other supplies as needed
  • Other duties as may be assigned
