About The Position
Hood River Distillers Tasting Room is seeking an enthusiastic, hard-working, and reliable individual with a genuine passion for craft spirits and exceptional customer service skills. This role is perfect for someone excited about the history, production, and flavor profiles of spirits and wants to be part of a team that takes pride in creating memorable and illuminating experiences. The position requires availability for weekend shifts, flexibility to pick up or cover other shifts, and offers the opportunity to work occasional outside events. The starting pay is $20/hr. plus tips.
Requirements
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Available to work weekends and holidays
- Available to cover shifts on short notice
- Ability to communicate well with management, supervisors and co-workers
- Ability to multitask
- Ability to use common sense to make decisions when appropriate
- Use basic mathematical skills
- Attention to details
- Valid Driver’s license
- OLCC Server Permit required
- High school diploma required
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write reports and correspondence
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, customers and employees
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a bar or restaurant and/or training in the alcohol industry desired
Responsibilities
- Provide product tastings to public and industry guests
- Be familiar with each product, manufacturing process, and product category
- Follow OLCC rules and regulations at all times
- Perform retail sales, including processing of credit card and cash transactions
- Staff outside promotional events as available
- Clean glassware and stock other supplies as needed
- Other duties as may be assigned
