About The Position

The Tape Machine Operator sets up and operates a tape machine in a food manufacturing environment. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with some Saturdays possible. The operator reads and understands the production schedule, coordinates with the Box Erector, enters basic information into a computer, applies labels to boxes when required, and completes skid tag information. The operator also maintains a clean work area and recognizes potential machine problems.

The role requires following all plant and corporate safety and food safety policies and procedures, and promptly reporting safety incidents and food safety concerns to a supervisor or management. Physical requirements include repeatedly lifting up to 50 pounds, pushing or pulling approximately 200 pounds, standing for most of the shift, working in high ambient temperatures, and performing tasks involving bending and twisting. The operator must be able to read and write English.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Ability to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to push or pull approximately 200 pounds.
• Ability to stand for the majority of the shift.
• Ability to work in high ambient temperatures.
• Ability to perform tasks involving standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and twisting.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of food manufacturing experience preferred.
