About The Position

This position is responsible for ensuring that production tanks are washed and sanitized. The role involves collecting and delivering tanks using an electronic or hand-operated pallet jack while adhering to safety procedures. The Tank Washer will also be responsible for dumping, washing, sanitizing, and prepping tanks and totes for production use, as well as ensuring all production equipment delivered to the tank wash area is washed and sanitized. The position requires participation as a member of a team, contributing to ongoing development, communication, and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. This includes coordinating work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members and attending appropriate team meetings. The role also involves fostering team cohesiveness, identifying areas lacking cohesiveness, and working with the team leader to resolve issues and achieve synergy within the organization. The Tank Washer must be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g., quality, security, office environment, company policies) and understand their responsibility to maintain this familiarity and their role in supporting these systems, including considering the impact of individual actions and communicating concerns or improvement ideas. The position may require performing other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.

Requirements

Be able to efficiently work in a plant environment.
Regularly required to stand, reach and move about the facility.
Moderate to heavy physical effort required.
Will use water resistant/slip resistant footwear, gloves, apron, hearing protection, hair net(s) and other protective equipment as needed or required.

Responsibilities

Dumps, washes, sanitizes and preps tanks and totes for use by production.
Ensures all production equipment that is delivered to the tank wash area is washed and sanitized.
Participates as a member of the Team, including ongoing development, communication and implementation of team concepts, programs and policies.
Coordinates work to ensure B.E.S.T practices with all team members.
Attends appropriate team meetings.
Fosters strong cohesiveness regarding all major issues; e.g., direction, annual plan, budget, policy changes, etc.
Accepts responsibility to quickly identify any areas that lack cohesiveness, bringing them to the attention of the team leader and working with the team in a supportive manner to resolve issues.
Actively looks for ways, and reinforces actions needed, to achieve synergy possible within the larger organization.
Is familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems (e.g. quality, security, office environment, company policies).
Understands the responsibility to maintain familiarity with the systems and this position’s role in support of these systems - including a consideration of the impact of individual actions on the systems and the responsibility to communicate concerns and improvement ideas.
Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
