About The Position

This is a student position within PSC's Tankering Career Academy (TCA) designed to provide hands-on experience in barge transfer operations. The student will assist credentialed Tank Barge PICs, observe and learn proper procedures, complete assigned coursework and training, and adhere to safety standards and marine regulations.

Requirements

• Speak, write, read fluent English. Hear and have good vision
• Regular on-site attendance and punctuality is required
• Work outside in environmental conditions which at times include extreme heat or extreme cold
• Work may involve protected and monitored exposure to chemicals, fumes, odors, or other environmental conditions typical of an industrial facility
• Wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass any medical examination associated with the use of PPE
• Lift 60 to 80 pounds to waist and carry up to 300 feet
• Grip/hold/pull 80 pounds
• Walk one to four miles per job
• Climb stairs and ladders
• Step as much as two feet horizontal and vertical
• Extend arms through normal range of motion while standing and squatting

Responsibilities

• Participates in PSC's Tankering Career Academy (TCA) to gain hands-on experience in barge transfer operations
• Assists credentialed Tank Barge PICs during cargo transfer, lineups, and safety checks
• Observes and learns proper procedures for product transfer, documentation, and regulatory compliance
• Completes assigned coursework, on-the-job training, and safety certifications as part of the development program
• Demonstrates consistent adherence to company safety standards and marine regulations
• Performs any other duties that may be assigned to complete the job
